Westboro Baptist Church gets pwned by San Franciscans at Twitter protest

Last week, despicable fleshbag Fred Phelps and his brainwashed followers, aka the WBC, decided that they should make a pitstop in SF on their whirlwind “WE HATE EVERYTHING WAAAAHH” tour. Was it to see the sea lions’ absurd midafternoon fights, or to sample the incredible fried dumplings in peanut sauce? Nope. They found twelve different institutions/performances to protest. I’m including the picket schedule only because it’s so terrifying. Equally scary? That they freely posted it on their website, probably believing that people would join up on the way.

Phelps runs a tight ship, doesn’t he? Thankfully, during their afternoon protest at the Twitter headquarters, a number of bloggers spurred on by Laughing Squid appeared to stage a counter-protest and even prank the WBC guys.
Phelps is one of the few people who can make me shudder with rage. I’ve seen but one video of him in-person, but it’s really his words that get to me; a few years ago, I saw Josh play him in The Laramie Project and even with that bias I felt disgusted. Now there’s a case for abortion, if ever I saw one.
Check out the rest of the counter-protest, including a video from one of the participants, at the source. I leave you with this question… Why did they decide to protest Twitter, of all things?
